Government of Canada Renews Support of Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 9, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R Inc.) has been granted funding from the Government of Canada for the promotion for of the race's 2013 and 2014 editions outside Quebec.

"The Government of Canada has chosen to support the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières because this not-to-be-missed sports event, which is now in its 44th year, generates major spinoffs for the Mauricie economy," said Minister Lebel.

This funding will enable the organization to air a television advertisement in Ontario and the northeastern United States and will serve to cover the costs of transporting a promotional caravan to several Ontario and American racing circuits.

Minister Lebel will have the honour of giving the starting signal for next Sunday's race.
