Government of Canada Renews Support of Reves d'automne With a $51,000 Contribution

BAIE-SAINT-PAUL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2010) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced the awarding of $51,000 in non-repayable financial assistance to the Corporation des fêtes et événements de Charlevoix for the marketing outside Quebec of the 2010 and 2011 editions of Rêves d'automne, Festival of Landscapes in Painting.

Welcoming artists and visitors to this 20th annual event—which opens today and wraps up October 3—the Minister of State underscored the festival's undeniable contribution to the dynamism and vitality of the Charlevoix tourism industry, a driving force of the regional economy.

"With its Couleurs sur le monde international component, Rêves d'automne is broadening the horizons of its programming and allowing Baie-Saint-Paul and the Charlevoix region as a whole to play a more prominent role on the world tourism stage," noted Minister Lebel.

This financial assistance has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Community Diversification program, an initiative aimed at helping Quebec's regions strengthen and expand their economic activity base.
