Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions renews funding to GIMXPORT for the pursuit of its activities, notably to help Gaspesie and Iles-de-la-Madeleine enterprises develop new markets


GRANDE-RIVIÈRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 11, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the organization GÎMXPORT has been granted funding to continue supporting Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine businesses looking to break into new markets or improve their innovation or productivity performance.

This assistance has been awarded in the form of a $612,000 non-repayable financial contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

  • This funding will enable the organization to guide SMEs in their efforts to, among other things, diversify and grow their markets and integrate value chains.
  • The three-year funding agreement will extend until March 31, 2018.
  • The project will also allow the region's SMEs to benefit from GÎMXPORT's new innovation and productivity service, which will provide support and guidance to enterprises wishing to innovate in the area of product development, manufacturing processes or business practices.
