Government of Canada Supports Canada Day Celebrations in Kawartha Lakes

Funding from the Celebrate Canada program helps make community event possible


LINDSAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 25, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Barry Devolin, Member of Parliament (Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $27,200 in funding to the City of Kawartha Lakes to celebrate Canada Day.

This funding, provided through the Celebrate Canada program, will enable the organization to offer Canada Day activities in the Kawartha Lakes area on July 1, 2015.

  • The Department of Canadian Heritage provides financial support for activities organized on specific days during the Celebrate Canada period from June 21 to July 1.
  • The Celebrate Canada period includes National Aboriginal Day on June 21, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27 and Canada Day on July 1.
