MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 2, 2014) - Canada Economic Development
The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that funding was provided for the organization and promotion of the Canadian International Aluminium Conference (CIAC).
The assistance was awarded in 2013 in the form of a $750,000 non-repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
- This investment is enabling the CIAC to promote the use of aluminium by industrial and institutional contractors by showcasing concrete applications from abroad while highlighting Quebec expertise and know-how to potential business partners.
- Moreover, this international conference gives Quebec aluminium companies the opportunity to forge business partnerships and structure their commercial activities according to industry and market needs.
- The first leg of the CIAC was held in October 2013; the second part begins today.
"Our government is funding this Canadian International Aluminium Conference because it is an event that promises not only to help enterprises from the aluminium sector increase their share of export markets and become more competitive, but also to strengthen our national economy."
