Government of Canada Supports Developpement PME Chaudiere-Appalaches


SAINT-ROMUALD, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2012) - The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veteran Affairs, today announced on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, that the organization Développement PME Chaudière-Appalaches has been granted financial assistance from the Government of Canada to increase and strengthen the strategic capabilities of manufacturing firms in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.

"The Government of Canada is focused on jobs, growth and long-term prosperity," said Minister Blaney. "The work Développement PME Chaudière-Appaches is doing to help SMEs become more efficient and adopt new management practices is essential to creating jobs and ensuring stable economic growth in Canada."

Développement PME Chaudière-Appalaches' mission is to contribute to the technological development of manufacturing firms and assist small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to export. It is also dedicated to promoting the economic development of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and facilitating the development of value-added enterprises. Thanks to the services offered by Développement PME Chaudière-Appalaches, businesses are becoming more competitive and enhancing their ability to create wealth.

Granted through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program, this non-repayable contribution of $2,100,000 over three years will enable Développement PME Chaudière-Appalaches to continue providing enterprises with a full range of services focused on improving their commercialization, strategic management, value chain management and innovation capabilities.
