Government of Canada Supports Growth of Le Groupe DSD Inc.


THETFORD MINES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 9, 2015) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Christian Paradis, Member of Parliament for Mégantic-L'Érable and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, today announced that Le Groupe DSD Inc. has been granted financial assistance for productivity enhancement.

This support has been awarded in the form of a $1,500,000 repayable financial contribution through the Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile.

  • The assistance will enable Le Groupe DSD Inc. to acquire equipment it will use to robotize some of its operations, thereby enhancing its production capacity and remaining competitive.
  • The project is part of a broader strategic development plan the company set up when it was founded. Recognized as being innovative, Le Groupe DSD Inc. holds some 60 patents for the plastic products it distributes here and abroad.
  • The Canadian Initiative for the Economic Diversification of Communities Reliant on Chrysotile aims to support projects linked with the economic diversification of the Des Appalaches and Des Sources RCMs that have the potential to create jobs in the short and long terms.
