Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions renews funding of Expansion PME Montérégie Est to allow the organization to continue providing services, notably in the area of market development, to the region's businesses


MONT-SAINT-HILAIRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 7, 2015) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the organization Expansion PME Montérégie Est has been granted funding to continue providing assistance to the region's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are looking to expand into new markets or to improve their performance in terms of innovation or productivity.

This support has been granted in the form of a $718,000 non-repayable financial contribution through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.

  • The funding will enable the organization to guide SMEs in their efforts to, among other things, diversify and develop their markets and integrate value chains.
  • The three-year funding agreement extends to March 31, 2018.
