Government of Canada Supports Start-Up of Design Catamaran Inc.


TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 4, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the firm Design Catamaran Inc. has received financial assistance to implement its strategy to commercialize its products in the United States and Europe.

"By lending financial support to the start-up of Design Catamaran Inc., the Government of Canada is once again acknowledging the fundamental role businesses play in creating jobs and growing the economy," said Minister Lebel.

Design Catamaran Inc. specializes in the design and manufacture of avant-garde, versatile and high-performance catamarans. Its 34-foot TORO34 sport catamaran stands apart for its ease of handling, speed of assembly and disassembly, and easy road trailer transportation and container shipping. The contribution from Canada Economic Development will allow the company to participate in specialized boat shows, form distribution partnerships, develop promotional material and obtain the necessary approvals to commercialize its innovative, streamlined catamaran.
