Governments of Canada, Manitoba and the Local Government District of Pinawa Deliver New BizPaL Services

Online business permit and licence service saves time, cuts paperwork and helps entrepreneurs

PINAWA, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - July 19, 2013) - Starting and running a business in Pinawa just became easier thanks to BizPaL, an online business permit and licence service that saves time spent on paperwork and helps entrepreneurs start up faster.

Today, James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk-Interlake, on behalf of the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), together with the Honourable Peter Bjornson, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade for the Province of Manitoba, and His Worship Blair Skinner, Mayor of Pinawa, welcomed the launch of BizPaL in Pinawa.

"BizPaL is just one of the many tools that will help Pinawa entrepreneurs run their businesses while saving them time and money," said Mr. Bezan. "Our government is committed to reducing the administrative burden faced by all Canadian entrepreneurs so that they can continue creating jobs and fostering growth here at home."

BizPaL is an innovative service that provides entrepreneurs with simplified access to information on the permits and licences they need to establish and run their businesses. This unique partnership among federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments is designed to cut through the paperwork burden and red tape that small business owners may encounter. The BizPaL service was developed by the Local Government District of Pinawa, the Province of Manitoba and the Government of Canada.

"BizPaL has been recognized for its innovation in reducing red tape for businesses and making it easier for entrepreneurs to access important information," said Minister Bjornson. "Over the past 50 years, Pinawa has developed a diversified economy, and now with BizPaL, entrepreneurs will have another tool to help them start and expand their businesses."

"As Pinawa marks its 50th anniversary this year as a great place to live, work and do business, we are proud to now have the BizPaL service available to help all of our small businesses succeed," said Mayor Skinner. "We are helping the next generation of entrepreneurs to prosper in Pinawa."
