GoviEx Uranium Appoints William Hayden as President to Help Lead the Company's Expanded Exploration Push in Niger

NIAMEY, NIGER--(Marketwire - Aug. 30, 2010) - Govind Friedland, founder and Chief Executive Officer of GoviEx Uranium, announced today that William Hayden, a veteran geologist with extensive exploration and business development experience in Africa, has been appointed President of GoviEx.

"GoviEx recently raised $25 million to expand our exploration program on tenements that originally were assembled with Mr. Hayden's guidance," Mr. Friedland said.

Mr. Hayden said GoviEx now is widely recognized as a successful exploration company with strategically located discoveries in one of the world's principal uranium-producing nations. A geologist for 36 years, Mr. Hayden has held numerous senior management positions with several exploration and mining companies in Africa, Australia and other Asia Pacific nations during the past 25 years. Mr. Hayden has been associated with the Ivanhoe group of companies for more than 20 years. He was the founder and President of Canada-based Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum (Ivanplats). Ivanplats, formerly African Minerals, has reported major copper discoveries on its tenements in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is exploring other mineral discoveries in South Africa and Zambia. Mr. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Geology from Sierra Nevada College, Nevada, USA.
