Gowest Has New Expertise

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 26, 2007) - With pleasure, Gowest Amalgamated Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:GWA)("Gowest" or "the Company") announces the addition of two new Directors to the Board.

Mark Bradshaw is Vice - President of Freedom International Brokerage Company in Toronto and is quite familiar in particular, with the field operations of an exploration company having experienced the life and environment in his northern Ontario youth.

Daniel Mersich of Owen Sound spent his youth in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He obtained a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of New Brunswick and an LL.B from Queens University in 1968. He is the founder and president of Lincoln-Parry Softescrow Inc., the world's first commercial provider of escrow services for intellectual property such as computer software. He served as General Counsel to Honeywell Information Systems and was an early pioneer in private law practice specializing in technology matters. He also served on the staff of the Federal Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources.

Michael Bradshaw, because of his company policy, has resigned from the Board.

Gowest also announces that options to purchase 450,000 common shares of the Company have been granted to directors and consultants of the Company. The options are exercisable at $0.20 and are exercisable until April 26, 2012.
