Gracenote Partners With Consolidated Independent

Agreement Will Enable CI's Record Label and Distributor Clients to Expand Global Presence and Increase Revenue Opportunities

BERLIN--(Marketwire - September 19, 2007) - PopKomm IMEA 2007 - Gracenote®, a global leader in technology and services that are an integral part of the digital media economy, today announced it is partnering with Consolidated Independent (CI) to enhance the global distribution and marketing opportunities for CI's client base of independent record labels and digital distributors. CI is the newest member of Gracenote's Global Content Partner Program, which is designed to help record labels, content aggregators, and individual performers build awareness, capture consumer interest and drive sales for their digital media.

Gracenote will provide CI's clients the opportunity to submit additional information on their music catalogs to Gracenote's Global Media Database, the largest music database in the world. CI will provide Gracenote with complete and accurate metadata such as song titles, product codes and audio fingerprints, which Gracenote will then make available in its music recognition and discovery products used by leading Web and mobile digital music services worldwide, including iTunes, Sony Ericsson and Yahoo! Music.

Gracenote will identify and link CI's catalog to all Gracenote-enhanced services, including its music recognition service, MusicID® as well as its Playlist, Discover and Mobile MusicID products. For example, through Mobile MusicID, consumers can identify and discover songs as they hear them and then purchase new music from both digital and physical stores. Currently, Gracenote's Mobile MusicID is available on a wide variety of carriers worldwide, including AT&T and Virgin Mobile USA, KDDI in Japan, SKT and KTF in Korea, and France Telecom/Orange in Europe.

Mobile MusicID is also used in Sony Ericsson Walkman® phones worldwide, through which music fans can identify any song played within proximity of the phone -- such as a club or restaurant, or on its built-in FM tuner -- and be instantly linked to the available retail storefront. Gracenote's Mobile MusicID uses track information from within the Global Media Database of more than 80 million tracks to deliver results immediately to music fans.

"We're excited that CI's leading labels and distributors will be represented in all of our products and services around the world," said Ross Blanchard, vice president of business development for Gracenote. "Our partnership will ensure that the more than 200 million consumers who use Gracenote products will get access to information on, and the ability to purchase music from, some of the top artists in the world."

Gracenote's Global Media Database contains data from more than 200 countries and territories and handles close to two billion searches per month. The Global Media Database continues to grow exponentially with new content, with more than 20 percent of Gracenote's end-user album submissions from European consumers. CI is a global leader in content distribution services for independent record companies and digital distributors, and is greatly expanding its service offerings and reach through its relationship with Gracenote.

"This partnership with Gracenote fulfills CI's mission to provide independent access to every part of the digital music marketplace, and will enable the artists represented by our clients to reach millions of potential fans through the most popular digital music products and services available," said CI Managing Director Gavin Starks.

Recognized as the industry standard for music recognition services, Gracenote licenses its technology to thousands of developers of consumer electronics devices and online media players around the world. Its services are available in the industry's most popular media players, home stereos, MP3 players, car stereos, and mobile phones. Gracenote's Global Content Partner Program makes it easier for artists and labels to submit, edit and manage information about their artists, and reach millions of consumers through these digital media devices and applications.

Gracenote is participating in the PopKomm IMEA show this week in Halle 22, Suite 2. For more information about Gracenote's Content Partner Program please go to www.gracenote.com/contentpartner/.
