Graham Brooks Promoted to Partner at .406 Ventures

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 2, 2014) -  .406 Ventures, a Boston-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage breakthrough Enterprise IT companies, announced today that Graham Brooks has been promoted to Partner. Graham joined .406 as an Associate in 2007 and was promoted to Senior Associate and later Principal. He focuses on early-stage investments in the Big Data space as well as AdTech and Healthcare IT/Services.

Maria Cirino, Partner at .406 Ventures, commented, "We were extremely fortunate to recruit Graham in the early days of our firm's formation back in 2007. He demonstrated keen investing insights from day one. He's been a key contributor and has had a meaningful impact on our success over the past seven years. We're delighted to welcome him formally into our partnership and look forward to continuing to work with him for many years to come."

"I fell in love with the venture industry as a software engineer at a start-up in the 90s and then as an entrepreneur I saw first-hand the value that experienced operators can add on your board," said Graham. "Seven years ago, I was lucky enough to join the amazing team of operators-turned-VC at .406 and have seen the impact that investors acting as true partners can have on a start-up's outcome. Over the years, I've been privileged to work with top entrepreneurs and management teams building world-changing enterprise IT companies. I love what we do and how we do it, so I'm thrilled to make .406 Ventures my permanent home."

Graham currently serves on the Board of Directors of Attend.com, Connotate and CoPatient. He has also been actively involved with several current and past .406 portfolio companies including: AbilTo, Adtuitive (acquired by Etsy), Digitalsmiths (acquired by TiVo), Iora Health, Urban Compass and WoodPellets.com. He also conceived and runs the .406 Student Fellows program, a university entrepreneur outreach and education program.

Graham began his career as a software engineer at ALK Associates (acquired by Trimble). After business school, Graham co-founded Accentus, a spin-out of Dartmouth College focused on bringing innovative solutions to the financial trading industry. Graham came to .406 from Bose where he was part of their New Ventures Group.

Graham, a Kauffman Fellow, received his MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he was a Tuck Scholar and his BSE in Computer Science from Princeton.
