Grand Prairie Dentist Holds Free Day of Dentistry for Children

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX--(Marketwired - May 26, 2015) - Dr. Harita Kodali, a talented Grand Prairie family dentist, held a day of free preventative and general dental care for children in recognition of National Children's Dental Health Month.

The event, Smile Today for a Brighter Tomorrow, was held at Carrier Family Dental on Feb. 17. Dr. Kodali and her staff treated a number of children -- ages 5 to 15 -- with cleanings and general dentistry services for the entire business day. The team provided the services free of charge.

“We are committed to providing services to help educate young children how important it is to see your dentist on a regular basis. We are also passionate in helping stop the number one childhood disease: tooth decay,” Dr. Kodali said.

Dr. Kodali’s office, Carrier Family Dental, partnered with the local Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to spread the word about the free event. She said parents who could otherwise not afford to send their children for regular visits and cleanings were very pleased to find a dental office that devotes time and resources to the community.

Tooth decay is the number one childhood disease in the world. According to the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, about 50 percent of U.S. children will have tooth decay by the time they turn 5.

“By spending the time and resources to prevent cavities, parents can save themselves headaches down the road in potential restorative or emergency dental visits,” Dr. Kodali said.

Carrier Family Dental provides general dentistry and comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. Individual services include sedation dentistry, Invisalign, porcelain veneers, crowns and full and partial dentures. Dr. Kodali uses mini dental implants to stabilize dentures. Implants not only stabilize oral appliances but also help preserve a patient’s jawbone.

Carrier Family Dental -- 355 E. Westchester Parkway, Suite 200 -- works diligently to ensure that all patients are comfortable during their treatment. To help fearful patients, Dr. Kodali offers a variety of sedation options, including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation and IV sedation. IV sedation can benefit patients with a debilitating fear of the dentist or those who need multiple treatments in one sitting.

Dr. Kodali graduated with honors from Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry in 2007. After graduating, Dr. Kodali worked in private practice for four years and then worked with special needs patients at the Texas State Supported Living Center in Denton. She began her own practice in March 2014, but she still continues to work with the Texas State Supported Living Center.

To ensure that all patients are getting the care they need, Dr. Kodali offers free second opinions at her Dallas-area dental office. To learn more about Dr. Kodali’s Grand Prairie cosmetic dentistry, visit her website at or call 972-619-9108.
