The Grand Seduction and Louis Cyr: l'homme le plus fort du monde to Be Featured at Rideau Hall Movie Nights

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 29, 2014) - The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General announced today that two Canadian feature films, The Grand Seduction and Louis Cyr: l'homme le plus fort du monde, will be shown on August 17 and 19, 2014, as part of the inaugural Rideau Hall Movie Nights. This special summer event in Ottawa will feature outdoor screenings on the grounds of Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Governor General of Canada.

On August 17, the public will be invited to come and enjoy an English screening of The Grand Seduction, a charming comedy based on the 2003 film Seducing Doctor Lewis (original French title, La grande séduction.) In theatres nationwide on May 30, 2014, this story follows the residents of Tickle Head in their bid to convince a doctor that their sleepy harbour is a paradise tailor-made just for him.

On August 19, Louis Cyr: l'homme le plus fort du monde will be screened in French. Winner in the best film category at this year's La Soirée des Jutra, this widely acclaimed drama depicts the life and battles of Louis Cyr, the strongest man in the world at the end of the 19th century.

The films were selected by the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General in consultation with Canadian film industry partners, in order to best showcase Canadian feature films in Canada's Capital Region.
