Grants Available for Brain Cancer Research

Attention: Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor, Science Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor LONDON, ONTARIO, PRESS RELEASE--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2008) - Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is currently accepting applications for their 2008 Research Grant Program. Funding is sought for a variety of research projects, including those specializing in pediatric care. These grants are part of the organization's mission to reach every Canadian affected by a brain tumour with support, education and information, and to fund brain tumour research in hope of finding a cure for this devastating disease.

Researchers are encouraged to apply for funds to study innovative approaches to brain tumours. Canadian scientific investigations into the cause, behaviour and treatment of brain tumours, as well as the mechanisms of brain tumour generation and growth, are of great interest. Research that concentrates on novel treatments to enhance the quality of life for those affected by a brain tumour is also supported.

Applications for grants up to $25,000 will be considered and must be submitted by March 7, 2008.
