Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off Announces 2014 Entertainment Lineup

AMELIA ISLAND, FL--(Marketwired - May 15, 2014) - The Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (AICVB) has announced the entertainment lineup for the 2014 Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off, August 22-23. The two-day event features tasty barbecue from top competitors in the country, served with live music from five exciting performers.

At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 22, The Dirt Floor Krackers will start things off, followed by the South Carolina-based band known as "The Party Band of the South," the Swingin' Medallions. On Saturday, August 23, the live music begins at 10:45 a.m. with Rockit Fly; then local favorites the Beech Street Blues Band and Face for Radio

The Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off is held at Main Beach on Amelia Island Florida starting at 3 p.m. on August 22 and 10 a.m. on August 23. Admission to the event is just $5 and the barbeque cook-off will feature more than 50 professional and backyard (amateur) teams. Each team will prepare a variety of barbeque entrees, including chicken, ribs, pork, brisket and more, as they compete for more than $12,000 in prize money and trophies. 

Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase food and drink from various vendors throughout the day. Attendees at the Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off can also enjoy the VIP Pig Pub with shaded tables and bar seating, fans, cold beverages and a great view of the stage. There is a $5 per day cover charge and guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the VIP Pig Pub.

About Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off
The 5th Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off will fire up again on August 22 and 23 on Amelia Island. Barbeque cooking teams from across the country will compete for cash prizes, and, of course, bragging rights. The cook-off is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) and features professional and backyard barbeque competition teams. The cook-off features live musical entertainment, tasty food and beverage items and the VIP Pig Pub for an enhanced experience.
