Great Western Minerals Group Ltd.: Drilling Confirms Geophysical Conductor as Rare Earth Zone

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 28, 2005) - The Company reports that, further to the news release dated September 1, 2005, drilling at the Company's 100%-owned Hoidas Lake rare earth project in northern Saskatchewan, has confirmed that the first of two new geophysical conductors, located northwest of the main JAK Zone, contains rare earth mineralization. Parallel and similar to the conductor associated with the rare earth enriched JAK Zone, drill-testing of the conductor nearest the JAK Zone intersected widths of approximately 3.0 metres of apatite-allanite rare earth mineralization. Assays are pending.

Drilling of the second conductor, located 500 metres northwest of the JAK Zone and traced for over 1,500 metres, will be carried out this winter.

Additional parallel zones of rare earth mineralization could significantly add to the tonnage potential in the immediate area of the main JAK Zone, where development is currently underway.
