Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce Member, GoodWorks Insurance, Will Donate 50 Percent of Related Profits to Foundation for Workforce Training

DANBURY, CT--(Marketwired - Sep 9, 2015) - A member of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce is offering a new way for other members to support the local community automatically through a portion of the premiums they and their employees spend on insurance.

GoodWorks Insurance, an independent insurance agency, will donate 50 percent of related profits to the Business & Industry Foundation of Western Connecticut -- the Chamber's charitable affiliate that funds workforce development and training. The program, called GoodWorks Community Grants, applies to both business insurance bought by the Chamber's 1,000 members and home and auto insurance purchased by their employees.

"It's seldom that you can buy a product you need and give back to the community at the same time," said Chamber president Stephen A. Bull. "GoodWorks Insurance offers a unique, wonderful program."

The GoodWorks grants will help the foundation leverage state and federal grants, he added.

Chamber member employees who live in Connecticut will receive a 5 percent discount on auto insurance policies from Nationwide Insurance.

Chamber members also can take advantage of GoodWorks' risk management services and expertise in placing property-casualty insurance for organizations of all sizes and types. Representing 40 insurance carriers, GoodWorks Insurance shops the market for the best deals in business and personal insurance.

Additionally, a GoodWorks consultant can work with members to assess the feasibility of creating a group auto-and-home insurance program for their employees.

GoodWorks Insurance donates 50 percent of its overall profits to local nonprofits that support education, healthcare, public safety and community development.

As well as insuring businesses across the board, GoodWorks has special expertise working with manufacturers and machine shops, contractors, nonprofits, banks and financial institutions, fuel oil and propane dealers, convenience stores, craft brewers, schools and children's programs, and medical and dental providers.

The Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce (www.danburychamber.com) provides benefits that are available to all employees of its members. It promotes a business environment that sustains economic vitality and promotes economic development in the Greater Danbury Area.

GoodWorks (www.goodworksinsurance.com), with offices in New Milford, Glastonbury, and Columbia, insures businesses and families across the region.
