Greater Des Moines Partnership Advances Regional Priorities in Washington, D.C.

Annual Advocacy Trip Takes Place May 11-13, 2016

DES MOINES, IA--(Marketwired - May 11, 2016) - Nearly 200 of Central Iowa's business and community leaders are traveling to the nation's capital May 11-13 to present a federal agenda and promote regional priorities and economic development plans during the Greater Des Moines Partnership's 37th annual trip to Washington, D.C. While in the nation's capital, participants will advocate for key issues facing Central Iowa. This trip represents one of the largest chamber of commerce fly-ins in the nation.

Throughout the three-day trip, local leaders will meet with members of Iowa's Congressional delegation, the Administration and their staffs. 

The Partnership will also host Congressional staff policy meetings addressing priorities for Central Iowa including: Ag Biotechnology and Bio-Based Renewable Projects, Conservation and Flood Mitigation, Education, Long-Term Transportation Funding, Trade, Immigration, Quality of Life and Critical Healthcare Hospitals.
