Greater Toronto REALTORS® Take in Conference and Tradeshow to Benefit Their Clients

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 9, 2008) - To enhance the professional knowledge and skills they provide to the Greater Toronto Area's home buying, selling and commercial buying and leasing public, more than 7,000 REALTORS® will come together May 12th and 13th at the Toronto Real Estate Board's 4th annual REALTOR® Quest conference, which offers the latest information on tools and trends in the business.

Taking place at the Toronto Congress Centre, the conference includes Canada's largest real estate tradeshow with more than 200 exhibitors, non-stop information and entertainment on Centre Stage, a General Meeting of Members and a Continuing Education component called Learning Quest.

On May 13th, TREB Members will be hearing from Toronto Sun Money Editor Linda Leatherdale, and a panel of key real estate industry players from the national and provincial levels.

Linda Leatherdale will be drawing attention to current real estate market trends and the multitude of government taxes and charges (local, provincial and federal) that home buyers face. Whether it's land transfer taxes, property taxes, or development charges, homebuyers are being squeezed for
more and more in part to pay for services that should be paid for by the Provincial Government. At REALTOR Quest, TREB Members will be standing up for homebuyers to deliver a simple message - enough already!

REALTOR® Quest will also feature Canadian home decorating icon Debbie Travis on Centre Stage on May 12th. One of Canada's most influential futurists Tod Maffin will serve as the General Meeting's keynote speaker on May 12th and technology expert Dustin Luther is Learning Quest's featured speaker throughout the conference.

"We're delighted that so many well-known experts will be sharing their insights at this conference and tradeshow, as it is truly the most significant event of the year for Toronto Real Estate Board Members," said Ms. O'Neill.

During lunchtime on both days, the President will encourage REALTORS® to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Toronto and the Salvation Army.

"Whether it is through volunteerism or financial donations, REALTORS® are tremendous contributors to the communities in which they work and live," said Ms. O'Neill. "On behalf of our Members, we are very proud to have sponsored two Habitat for Humanity homes in recent years."

REALTOR® Quest takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on May 12th and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 13th at the Toronto Congress Centre, located at 650 Dixon Road. Entrance and media parking directional signs will be present. For full details, please visit
