Greeenstar* Founder & CEO to Receive 2011 Growth, Innovation and Leadership (GIL) Award From Frost & Sullivan

Recognized Dr Charles Roberts, Creator and Innovator of Greeenstar's Climate Impact Scale -- Reducing Corporate Carbon Emissions Around the World

LONDON--(Marketwire - Apr 18, 2011) - Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership Company, is pleased to announce one of this year's 2011 Growth, Innovation & Leadership (GIL) Award winners, Dr Charles Roberts, CEO and founder of Greeenstar*. This award recognizes Dr Roberts' innovation in developing the sustainability scale used by Greeenstar* (greeenstar.org, with 3 e's), a non-profit social enterprise with the mission to help stop climate change by reducing the amount of corporate carbon emissions. The award will be presented to Dr Roberts at Frost & Sullivan's annual GIL 2011: Europe event, taking place 17-18 May, 2011, at Emirates Stadium in London.

Dr Roberts began his career as a doctor with degrees in both Medicine and Psychology, but eventually left clinical medicine to become an entrepreneur developing for-benefit technologies, with the goal of focusing on his lifelong interest in the environment, finding ways to make positive environmental change.

It was this interest in the environment that led Dr Roberts to establish greeenstar.org, which uses algorithms to rate brands based off of their emissions reports and honour companies who excel in their sector with best-in-class ratings. Through the use of this public system of measurements and ratings, companies are greater incentivized to work harder to decrease their emissions in order to maintain a good overall reputation. Ratings influence consumer perspective, behaviour and purchasing decisions, being more mindful of purchasing goods from companies with a low carbon footprint as suggested by Greeenstar*.

"Without question, Roberts has brought an innovative idea forward, enabling a response and encouraging change which will address an important global challenge, this is truly an accomplishment deserving of recognition and closely aligns with our vision of the GIL community," explains Brian Denker, Vice President of Growth, Innovation and Leadership for Frost & Sullivan. Denker suggests that "The visionaries, innovators and leaders such as Dr Roberts are representative of our GIL Global effort. They influence change, deliver new ideas and alternative perspectives which will influence the way organizations anticipate and respond to issues that affect the world around us. This is ultimately the basis which companies will innovate, uncovers new opportunities and accelerate growth."

GIL 2011: Europe - The Global Community of Growth, Innovation and Leadership, will bring together some of today's greatest visionaries, innovators and leaders, including Dr Roberts, in order to share their best practices, engage one another in candid discussions on how to leverage innovation as a resource to address global challenges.
