Green Energy Collaborative Opens Chicago Center, Completes Photovoltaic Project, and GEC Partner Open Energy Corporation Featured on NBC's "Today" Show (OCTOBER 10)

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 9, 2006 -- The Green Energy Collaborative (GEC), whose partners include: Life Quality Systems (GEC Founder), a design and engineering firm specializing in "Leading Edge" mechanical, electrical, solar and power systems; A Design Consulting a leader in the field of Green Building design, solar design and analysis; Open Energy, a leading edge photovoltaic company at the forefront of solar technology designing and manufacturing; and ELFI Wall Systems, a manufacturer of light-gage steel and thermal insulated wall panel systems, announces the official opening of its Chicago Center, the completion of its initial Photovoltaic projects, and the featuring of GEC partner Open Energy's SolarSave® Roofing Tiles on NBC's "Today" show, Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

The GEC's new facility is a Customer Technology Center charged with educating about leading edge "Green" building. This unique resource center is the first of its kind in the region and brings together all segments of the environmental building community under one roof. The goal of the GEC is to demonstrate the nature & significance of scientific and technological discoveries, then transfer the methods and the benefits that their implementations can provide to the building industry and the public.

"We're proud of what we've built," said Founder of the GEC and Life Quality Systems President Rosario Milana. "The GEC's initiatives are the wave of the future in terms of natural resources and building processes co-existing without damaging the former or devaluing the latter. The GEC and its facility, in addition to being Open Energy's distributor in Chicago, also is designed for educational workshops and classes so that more people become aware of what is possible. Our signature project is a prototype Zero Energy Home which is completely utility-free and currently in the permitting stages with completion scheduled for later this year."

The GEC just completed a 1,500 square foot SolarSave® Roof at the Evelyn Pease Tyner Interpretive Center in Glenview, and it has signed a contract to retrofit a single family house with over 400 square feet of SolarSave® Roofing Tiles, and a 20 home development in which each home comes standard with a 400 square foot SolarSave® Photovoltaic system. In addition, a 3,300 square foot SolarSave® system is being designed for a new four-story mixed-use condominium building in Chicago. GEC architects are consulting with several Chicago architects and developers on their various "Green" projects. GEC partner David Saltman, CEO of Open Energy Corporation will appear on NBC's "Today" show Tuesday, October 10, 2006.

The Green Energy Collaborative was founded in 2002 by Rosario Milana, President of Life Quality Systems. The GEC's new facility is located near Chicago's Midway Airport at 6001 S. Knox. The GEC is in place to pursue the expansion of Green Building standards and practices; in doing so, it has been adding like-minded companies since its inception in order to provide a full service facility to developers, builders, contractors, educators, policy makers and homeowners. A Design's Kelly Andereck, ELFI's George Modrovic, Air-o-Matic's Peter Seremetis and Open Energy's Steve Coonen complete the GEC team and will host classes on topics ranging from Daylighting Design to Panelized Building Envelopes and Photovoltaics. The mission of the GEC is to forge strategic alliances with key industry, research organizations and Federal, state & local government agencies intimately involved in the "Green" building community through which progressive marketing of new and innovative environmental building materials and methods will continue to expand environmental market transformation in all segments of the building industry. The collaborative has been established, in part, to design and implement innovative systems and procedures to modernize electrical systems, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, water conservation and all construction elements of building technology in order to improve construction standards and methods throughout the region. The GEC is the leader in "Clean Energy" and "Green Building" design. Its several projects involve the Chicago City Council, Mayor's Office, Department of the Environment, Chicago Aldermen, in addition to principals in Washington D.C., New York, Mexico, Spain, Brazil and Venezuela.
