Green Energy Resources (GRGR) Makes UTCS Carbon Offset Credits Available to 22 RPS States

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 15, 2007 -- Green Energy Resources (PINKSHEETS: GRGR) launches sales of "Carbon Offset" credits. (www.utcs.com) Government, institutions, market traders, power companies and individuals can buy carbon offset credits directly from the company as well as through emission traders. GRGR plans to offer upwards of 1 million tons in certificates annually in tranches of 50,000 at a price of $5.50 per ton. The carbon offsets are being developed in conjuction with its UTCS (urban tree certification system) for US cities and towns in an effort to re-forest urban municipalities. Other projects will include re-greening of brownfields both inside and outside the United States, such as former beauxite mine in Jamaica. Green Energy Resources plans to register its UTCS carbon offsets with the established registries and offer the credits through major international emissions traders.

Green Energy Resources wood biomass is sourced from landfills, storm damage and other wood waste streams and diverted to a myriad of renewable energy projects. UTCS is designed to create a self-sustaining and revenue-generating mechanism to plant millions of trees a year to create carbon sequestration in cities and suburbs. UTCS has strict and verifiable standards with measureable results where carbon reductions are permanent, quantifiable and scaleable. The plan calls for every credit to be certified and authenticated. Green Energy Resources plans include retirement accounting of the carbon reductions from the atmosphere and a registry of every city and town that enrolls in UTCS. The Sale of Carbon Offset credits is anticipated to generate millions of dollars annually for the company in conjunction with each ton of biomass it sells.

The creation of a viable business model for local, state and city governments in the US creates a bonafide self-sustaining renewable energy plan from biomass without the need to cut local forests. UTCS has been reviewed by forest management. UTCS plan does not include RECs (Renewable Energy Credits) but rather sells to the power generator who earns the RECS. Green Energy Resources' plan can be used voluntarily (VCS), sold in US regional markets or under the EU scheme because of its export of biomass for energy overseas.
