"Green House Effect" Can Boost Sales Price for Home Sellers

A recent study of U.S. homebuilders* indicates that, nationwide, over 80% of home seekers prefer to purchase homes that incorporate sustainable or energy-efficient features. Of those buyers, half are willing to pay 11-25% more for environmentally friendly homes. In health-conscious Los Angeles, those numbers may be even higher. Sellers who use Green For Life's services before listing their properties are likely to see faster sales or leases and higher offers from eco-conscious buyers.

"Many of our buyers specifically request to see green homes," says Silva Mirzoian, "yet there are not enough properties in the market inventory to satisfy the demand.

"Traditionally, home sellers have often called upon us to provide them our 'Styling for $elling' service, where we provided so-called 'fluffing' services to prepare a home for sale by making quick cosmetic changes such as new carpet, fresh paint and upgraded lighting fixtures.     U.S. energy use and 20% of wood and raw materials use.
--  Buildings are a main contributor to global warming by generating 30%
    of U.S. CO2 emissions - the most significant climate change gas.
--  The air we breathe in our own homes can be 6-10 times more toxic than
    the air outside.
