Green Mountain College Offers Online Masters Trial Courses

POULTNEY, VT--(Marketwire - Jun 2, 2011) - Green Mountain College, a private, liberal arts institution with a long tradition of environmental commitment and responsibility, has enhanced its series of free, online masters program webinars with the addition of two informative trial courses. Designed for people exploring online MBA programs or hoping to pursue an online masters degree in environmental studies, the Green Mountain College Online Masters trial courses give participants the opportunity to experience distance learning at its best. The online masters trial courses run for two weeks and begin June 14, 2011. The cost for each course is $400 and all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the college.

Named by Sierra Magazine as the greenest college in the nation, Green Mountain College expanded its undergraduate curriculum with the 2006 launch of its online masters programs that include both online MBA programs and online masters degrees in Environmental Studies (MSES) and Sustainable Food Systems (MSFS).

"Students consistently tell us that the strong faculty and small class size of our distance learning programs deliver an engaging learning experience. Some are amazed at how interactive the online discussions become and how much they really get into the course material. Our trial courses are a great way to experience the rewards of online graduate study firsthand."

Dr. James Harding
Director of Masters of Science in Environmental Studies Program

  • Local Analysis of Global Issues - John Van Hoesen, Associate Professor of Geology and Environmental Studies, takes a fascinating look into the theory behind dam construction and mining-based extraction activities and their environmental impacts while exploring global environmental issues through the lens of your local bioregion.
