GreenButton Named as 2013 Hi-Tech Emerging Company of the Year

NZ Hi-Tech Awards Cites GreenButton as Recipient of the Cisco Hi-Tech Emerging Company Award

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - GreenButton™, the leading provider of compute intensive and integrated on-demand cloud solutions, today announced that it has received the Cisco Hi-Tech Emerging Company award at the recent NZ Hi-Tech Awards 2013 Gala Dinner held in Auckland, New Zealand. Selected by a national and international judging panel of more than fifty industry leaders including co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, the director of engineering for Google in New York, Craig Nevill-Manning, Cisco's senior vice president, Howard Charney, the Hi-Tech Awards program recognizes excellence across New Zealand's technology sector and, according to the judges, the caliber of this year's entrants was outstanding.

"This year's finalists were all incredibly innovative, creative and very, very smart and it's great to see so many new success stories emerging. It's a key reason why our industry continues to be the fastest growing contributor to New Zealand's export economy. We should all be very proud of that," stated Wayne Norrie, NZ Hi-Tech Trust Chair. "The Hi-Tech Awards program continues to go from strength-to-strength every year, with 2013 seeing a record number of first-time entrants and record attendance at all events."

Accepting the award on behalf of GreenButton, Chief Technology Officer Dave Fellows commented, "This award is a validation of GreenButton's tremendous growth. We are honored to be among an outstanding group of companies based in New Zealand -- all of whom contribute globally to the technology industry. For GreenButton, this award recognizes how far we've come and the potential for further success, as we continue to expand our cloud computing platform across the globe."

Now in their 19th year, the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards celebrate the success of our producers of goods and services from the software, electronics, telecommunications, mobile, agritech, creative and other hi-tech industries. The Awards are run by the NZ Hi-Tech Trust, a not-for-profit organization that supports and promotes the wider industry. The Board is made up of eight trustees: Bennett Medary, Al Monro and Ross Peat in Auckland, Chair Wayne Norrie, John Fokerd and Neville Jordan in Wellington and Christchurch-based Owen Scott and Andrew Plimmer.
