GreenBytes Names Brett Johnson as Vice President, Sales

Virtualization Industry Veteran to Lead Global Sales for Cloud-Scale VDI Solution Provider

ASHAWAY, RI--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2012) - GreenBytes®, Inc., a developer of cloud-scale IO-offload solutions that enable organizations to meet VDI performance requirements using their existing architecture, today announced that Brett Johnson has been named Vice President, Sales. Johnson will be responsible for the company's sales execution including the leadership of a global sales organization, technology alliances and channel partner community. Johnson's extensive background in virtual infrastructure technology is perfectly suited for increasing market penetration of GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine, a cloud-scale virtualization solution that enables Telcos, MSPs, ISPs and Enterprises to reliably and cost-effectively meet VDI performance requirements using their existing storage architecture.

Johnson most recently served as VP Sales and Marketing Americas for Centrix Software, joining as the company's first US employee, staffing the go-to-market team. Previously, he spent three years as VP Global Sales for DynamicOps, joining among the first handful of employees, where he led the company to a market leadership position and successful financing round before taking on a VP Channels & Sales Alliances role to drive growth with key channel and alliance partners (company acquired by VMware).

Before DynamicOps, Brett spent four years with PlateSpin, a recognized pioneer in the virtualization marketplace, where he developed key channel, distribution and customer relationships and managed the enterprise sales organization prior to the company's acquisition by Novell in 2008. Prior to PlateSpin, Brett spent four years at Gomez where his responsibilities included global business development including channel and OEM sales (company acquired by Compuware).

"With an established market presence in North America and Europe, I look forward to working with and expanding GreenBytes' world-class sales team as we continue to gain traction and help shape the rapidly developing virtual desktop infrastructure market," said Brett Johnson, VP, Sales, GreenBytes. "With the IO Offload Engine, GreenBytes is revolutionizing the way large-scale VDI is deployed and managed by Telcos, MSPs and Enterprises, and I'm thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time in its evolution."

"Brett Johnson comes to GreenBytes with deep experience in the virtualization space," said Bob Petrocelli, CEO, GreenBytes. "Brett has firsthand experience with the problems associated with the broad adoption of VDI, and he understands how our technology is the catalyst for successful deployments."

GreenBytes will be a featured exhibitor at two upcoming European events: VMworld in Barcelona, October 9-11, and IP Expo in London, October 17-18, where the company will demonstrate the IO Offload Engine, a purpose-built, cloud-scale VDI solution that enables organizations to reliably and cost-effectively meet demanding virtualization performance requirements using their existing storage architecture. GreenBytes Chairman, Stephen O'Donnell, will be a featured speaker at IP Expo, speaking to "Emerging Technologies that Enable Cloud-Scale VDI" on October 17 at 10:30am.
