Greenhouse Gas Protocol Launches New Standards for Corporate Value Chain and Products

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - Oct 6, 2011) - Ewire -- On Tuesday the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, a decade-long partnership between the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, launched two new standards that will empower businesses to measure, manage and report their greenhouse gas emissions more effectively. The Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) and Product Life Cycle Standards will enable companies to save money, reduce risks and gain competitive advantages. Lisa Nelowet Grice, Principal and North America Sustainability practice leader for global environmental and health consultancy ENVIRON, served as one of only five private-sector senior advisors, along with WRI and WBCSD advisors, on both referenced protocols. Grice and Dave Covell, Principal in the firm's European energy management practice, both served on the Technical Working Group of the Product Footprinting protocol.
