Greg Brown Joins Umbel as Chief Revenue Officer

Umbel Expands Leadership Team With Addition of CRO to Scale Market Development, Sales and Revenue Retention

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - May 1, 2014) - Umbel, a smart data company that helps monetize and grow premium audiences, today announced that global sales leader Greg Brown will join the company as Chief Revenue Officer, to scale sales activity and optimize earnings across verticals. The appointment comes as one in a series of strategic leadership hires for the company.

Brown most recently served as Vice President of Sales for mobile customer engagement platform Together Mobile, where he was responsible for revenue generation and connecting field execution to long-term corporate missions. Prior to Together Mobile, Brown was an integral part of revenue growth for Bazaarvoice, where in his seven year tenure, he multiplied sales teams and aggressively led top line sales to $150 million. Brown also played a critical role in the success of three other IPOs and three acquisitions, including BMC Software, Convio, Access Health and WebMD.

The addition of Brown to Umbel's C-suite comes as the company prepares for sizable growth. Umbel works with leading sports, digital publishing, broadcast, and live event companies such as Vox Media and Circuit of the Americas to convert audience data to drive improved results in sponsorship sales, ticketing, and content development.
