Gridcentric Open Sources Reactor for OpenStack

OpenStack cloud users gain an Open Source virtual appliance for auto-scaling OpenStack apps

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 18, 2013) - Gridcentric, Inc., a leading provider of scale-out virtualization software for OpenStack, announced today to open source their Reactor technology, and has moved the entire Reactor project under the Apache 2.0 license. Apache was chosen because it is the license under which most of the other leading Open Source projects for OpenStack are published, and this move will further accelerate adoption of Reactor by OpenStack cloud users who want to scale-out their apps.

Reactor allows you to automatically scale your OpenStack apps. It enables cloud users to deploy auto-scaled, efficient, and responsive applications including web services, big data, and virtual desktop infrastructure solutions on private OpenStack infrastructure. Out-of-the-box, reactor provides built-in load-balancer drivers for HTTP based load balancing, DNS based load balancing, Remote Desktop Protocol based session broker and a scale manager for virtual desktop infrastructure deployments. Additionally, Reactor also has a rich UI dashboard that allows you to configure scaling rules and monitor scaling activity.
