Groundstar Commences Ground Gravity Survey in Guyana

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 26, 2006) - Kam Fard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Groundstar (TSX VENTURE:GSA) is pleased to announce that a ground gravity survey commenced early January in the Rewa area located in the northeastern part of the Takutu Basin, Guyana.

The primary objective of the gravity survey is to provide additional structural control over the large un-drilled Rewa Prospect. The Prospect is partially fault-controlled to the east and north. The gravity survey will help to delineate the orientation and extent of the faults. The Prospect as currently mapped covers approximately 110 square kilometers and could contain 110 million Barrel of recoverable reserves.

Gravity survey is expected to be completed by early March.
