Grouplove Set to Release Debut Full Length; Highly Anticipated Album Features Single "Colours"; Summer Festival Schedule Already Includes Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Glastonbury; "NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG" Arrives in the U.S. on September 13th

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 20, 2011) - Canvasback Music/Atlantic recording artists Grouplove have announced the upcoming release of their highly anticipated debut album. "NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG" will arrive in stores and online in the U.S. on September 13th.

"NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG" was produced by the band's own Ryan Rabin and comes on the heels of their acclaimed, self-titled EP released earlier this year (see album track listing below). The album's lead single "Colours" is already an early add at SiriusXM's Alt Nation, 91X in San Diego, WSUN in Tampa, and KNRK in Portland. Grouplove's music has been enjoying support all year from key tastemaker stations like KEXP in Seattle and KCRW in Los Angeles, who invited the band to perform in-studio on their signature daily music show "Morning Becomes Eclectic."

Grouplove's summer schedule is already packed with high profile appearances all over the world, beginning with the UK's Glastonbury Festival this weekend. After playing a number of European shows and festivals, the Los Angeles-based quintet return stateside to treat hometown fans to a free, outdoor concert on July 21st as part of the KCRW-sponsored Also I Like to Rock series at The Hammer Museum. Other summer festival appearances include stops at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco. A U.S. headlining tour is being planned to coincide with the release of "NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG" -- details forthcoming.

Heralded by NME as one of the "Best New Bands of 2010," Grouplove closed last year touring the U.S. with The Joy Formidable and being handpicked to open a number of West Coast dates for Florence + The Machine. Since then, the band has been on the road nearly non-stop in support of their self-titled debut EP, released in January via Canvasback Music. SPIN declared Grouplove "a band to watch in 2011" and called their track "Colours" "one of the most infectious songs you're bound to hear" while NPR described their music as "wild, thrilling and above all joyful noise." Following an extensive tour through Europe and a slate of standout performances at this year's SXSW, Grouplove co-headlined a sold-out cross country U.S. tour with Foster The People.
