Grouptivity Extends Visitor Relationship in Web Publishing

"Discuss" Button Renders "Email This Page" Function Obsolete

SAN MATEO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 16, 2007 -- Grouptivity (www.grouptivity.com), an advanced Web collaboration platform, today introduced a white-label version of its service that helps Web publishers extend their relationship with visitors. With more visibility over site content as it is shared and discussed, the service provides a better user experience than using "email this page" and offers publishers revenue generation opportunities.

The Grouptivity service involves embedding a "discuss" button next to the content, and is designed to replace the existing "email this page" feature found on all content sites. The archaic, "email this page" function takes the consumer and content (text, photos, video, etc.) off the publisher's site to be discussed via email, where page views and other vital information can no longer be tracked. Content discussion, monetization and tracking are in the hands of email providers, not the Web publisher.

"The 'email this page' feature appears on every content site on the Internet," said Ankesh Kumar, Grouptivity's CEO. "It's amazing that sharing and discussing Web content today is currently driven by email, a technology built in the '80s, especially given the growth of content."

With Grouptivity, publishers have visibility and control on their users sharing and discussing their content. The branded button installed on their site allows visitors to initiate instant, private discussions without leaving the publisher's site, providing visitors with a better environment to discuss web content than email while increasing revenues and brand awareness through additional page views. The service is available to publishers at no cost and provides a revenue share opportunity.

Providing the power of a private discussion forum with the simplicity and immediacy of email, Grouptivity offers features that benefit both publishers and consumers, including the ability to instantly start a discussion, threading and notifications. In addition, as the visitors engage their friends and colleagues in private discussions, those "new users" become site users with no required sign-up process.

Grouptivity will demonstrate its service at the Web 2.0 Expo April 15-18 in San Francisco. Publishers interested in learning more can also visit www.grouptivity.com.
