GRTL Announces 2006 Primary Endorsements

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 21, 2006 -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL), the state's primary organization for the promotion of the protection of human life, is pleased to announce its list of endorsements for the upcoming 2006 July Primary Elections. This group includes the largest number of endorsed incumbents for a primary election in the history of Georgia Right to Life.

Leading the list of endorsed candidates is current Governor Sonny Perdue. During his first term, Governor Perdue signed the Woman's Right to Know Act, the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, and a constitutional amendment that will appear on the November ballot to allow the sale of specialty license tags that will include a Choose Life tag. The GRTL PAC endorsed list also contains 8 congressional, 7 statewide, 34 state senate, and 71 state house candidates that have met qualifications and have been endorsed by the Georgia Right to Life PAC for the upcoming election cycle.

In making the announcement, GRTL PAC Director Daniel Becker stated, "The GRTL PAC seeks to identify, groom, support, and endorse pro-life candidates. This election cycle has resulted in excellent choices that will allow voters to make positive differences in the upcoming election."

The role of the Georgia Right to Life Political Action Committee (GRTL PAC) is to inform the pro-life community which candidates are considered to be the strongest and most effective voice for the unborn; those who believe abortion should be legal ONLY to save the life of the mother. Preference has been given to previously endorsed pro-life incumbents.

"Our organization seeks to protect life from fertilization to natural death," said Caryl Swift, GRTL President. "The candidates that have been endorsed by our organization have confirmed their commitment to life issues and we applaud their courage and convictions."

Once the primary election is over, GRTL PAC will make additional recommendations regarding the General Election in November.
