Grupo Leche Pascual Selects Additional Descartes Solution to Manage its Contracted Carriers

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 22, 2006) -

Leading dairy products manufacturer and distributor chooses Descartes' Transportation Manager solution after success with Descartes' Routing & Scheduling solution

The Descartes Systems Group Inc. (TSX:DSG)(NASDAQ:DSGX), a leading provider of on-demand, software-as-a-service delivery management solutions and services for transportation, logistics, manufacturing, retail distribution and service provider enterprises, announced today that Grupo Leche Pascual, Spain's leading manufacturer and distributor of dairy, cereal, and beverage products, has selected Descartes' Transportation Manager™ solution to manage its network of contract truck carriers and private delivery fleet. The transportation management solution is to be deployed alongside Grupo Leche Pascual's existing Descartes Routing & Scheduling™ solution.

Grupo Leche Pascual strives for maximum flexibility and customer responsiveness within its distribution operations which comprise both a private fleet of several hundred delivery vehicles and over 1,000 contract carriers. With the assistance of Descartes' value-added reseller Optimize Logistic Solutions, Grupo Leche Pascual has already successfully deployed Descartes' Routing & Scheduling solutions to centrally manage and optimize its private fleet operations, realizing improvements in productivity and asset utilization.

Based on the success of the Descartes Routing & Scheduling project, Grupo Leche Pascual selected Descartes Transportation Manager, part of the Descartes Delivery Management Suite™, to help improve its management of contract carriers. Descartes Transportation Manager enables users to optimize for-hire transportation purchases based on both operational effectiveness and cost efficiency. The combined capabilities of the Descartes solutions enable Grupo Leche Pascual to streamline its operations by taking a holistic approach to managing delivery resources and requirements; evaluate transportation alternatives; select efficient delivery methods; and increase visibility into operations to evaluate backhaul opportunities and identify opportunities to improve delivery performance.

"Descartes' ability to manage both private and for-hire fleets gives Grupo Leche Pascual the flexibility and breadth of logistics solutions necessary to support the increasing customer service and distribution requirements of its expansion throughout Spain and Europe," said Enric Esquefa, Director Optimize Logistic Solutions. "We are excited to see our customers, such as Grupo Leche Pascual, benefiting from the wide-ranging capabilities of the Descartes Delivery Management Suite to meet their growing and evolving logistics needs."

"We believe that with our ability to help our customers manage both private fleet and for-hire transportation, we are well-positioned to help leading organizations such as Grupo Leche Pascual," said Arthur Mesher, CEO of Descartes. "The combination of our leading logistics technology solutions and the hard work of Optimize Logistic Solutions has delivered the quality results that gave Grupo Leche Pascual the confidence to expand our relationship."
