GTA REALTORS® Release Public Opinion Polling Results on Key GTA Issues at Annual REALTOR® QUEST Conference

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - Greater Toronto Area REALTORS(R) will share insight into public sentiment on a range of government issues at the Toronto Real Estate Board's annual REALTOR(R) QUEST conference, which takes place May 4th and 5th at the Toronto Congress Centre.

This year's conference will include the release of the results of public opinion polling conducted for TREB, in a presentation by John Wright, Senior Vice President for Ipsos Public Affairs. The poll results will provide one of the first examinations of the public's pulse on key City of Toronto and GTA issues since last year's municipal elections, which saw unprecedented change on City Councils across the GTA, including the election of Mayor Rob Ford. Some of the key issues to be examined in the poll will be the public's feelings on:

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford's commitment to repeal the Toronto Land Transfer Tax,
the City of Toronto's expected budget deficit and current service review,
GTA municipal services and costs that influence home-buying decisions, and,
satisfaction with the value, for money, of current GTA municipal services.

"While our association has a very diverse membership, all GTA REALTORS(R) share a commitment to representing our clients' best interests," said TREB President Bill Johnston. "By learning about issues that are important to them, like a repeal of the Toronto Land Transfer Tax, we are better equipped to share their perspectives in our ongoing dialogue with municipal leaders."

The presentation takes place at 2pm on May 4th at the conference's centre stage.

Located at the heart of the REALTOR QUEST's huge 225-exhibit tradeshow, centre stage also features non-stop entertainment and a reception for all attendees at the close of each day's events. Another popular attraction, a health and wellness fair, features complimentary interactive health screenings, an oxygen bar and professional golf swing analysis.

Given that REALTORS(R) are required to continuously upgrade their education, the conference also features 17 complimentary Continuing Education courses in five different streams.

"REALTOR(R) QUEST is widely regarded by GTA REALTORS(R) as a key source of information on all of the latest tools and trends in the profession," said Mr. Johnston. "The fact that the conference draws thousands of attendees demonstrates our commitment to continuously developing our professional knowledge to better serve our clients."
