GTA Students to Share 'Wise Words' in Intercollegiate Speech Competition

Centennial, Georgian, Humber and Seneca Colleges Will Flex Their Speaking Skills at the Fifth Annual VOICES Speech Competition on March 30

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - March 29, 2016) - Hosted by students from Seneca College, VOICES2016 is a public forum for the best and brightest public relations, corporate communications, marketing and advertising students in the Greater Toronto Area to come together and showcase their creativity and public speaking talents. This year's theme, Wise Words, will encourage the 14 competitors to share the stories that drive and inspire them.

Open to the public and completely free for guests, this year's competition is sure to impress. The VOICES team is pleased to announce that, for the first time in VOICES history, Georgian College students will be taking the stage alongside their downtown peers from Humber, Seneca and Centennial colleges.

"We want to grow this event to include provincial and national colleges in the years ahead," says Mimi Tsui, Professor, Corporate Communications and VOICES2016 Faculty Lead. "With the help of Seneca's wonderful volunteer team from Corporate Communications and Event and Media Production, I know VOICES will have a successful future."

This year, the industry experts chosen to judge VOICES offer decades of communications experience: Roxanne Cramer, President, CCI Search; Lisa Davis, Marketing Director, Marketwired; Geoff Rowan, past Managing Director, Ketchum and EVP, Weber Shandwick; and Colin D'Mello, CTV News Anchor. All recognize the importance of clear, confident communications, and appreciate the power of the spoken word.

Sponsors of the event include: CCC Academy, Marketwired, Swerve Design Group Inc., CCDriving.ca, Speakers' Spotlight and Fabarnak at the 519 Community Centre.
