Guaranteed Rate Launches Television Ads Featuring Ty Pennington

Low Rates and Simplicity of Company's Mortgage Process the Focus of Debut Spots

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - March 03, 2014) -  Guaranteed Rate, one of the ten largest retail mortgage companies in the nation, has launched its first national television advertisements featuring home improvement expert Ty Pennington.

The ads, which began airing on six national cable networks this week with creative work done by Olson, feature a humorous, irreverent take on getting a mortgage and show how Guaranteed Rate offers a simpler process and low-rate mortgages.

There are three different spots rotating on the air, all of which can be viewed on Guaranteed Rate's website:

  • The first spot, "Baby," profiles a happy family telling Pennington how much they love their new home purchased with a Guaranteed Rate mortgage and who have taken the "low rate" message to heart-in more ways than one.
  • The second spot, "Patio," features Pennington walking another couple through their dream home, only to learn that they can't buy the house because they can't find the right mortgage rate. Guaranteed Rate's low mortgage rates come to the rescue, making a splash along the way.
  • The third spot, "Lower," takes the viewer inside a staid, traditional bank office, where a banker denies a young couple's attempt to negotiate a lower mortgage rate, only for Pennington to drop in with the news that there is another option available to them: Guaranteed Rate.

The ad buy will expand to other networks in a few weeks. The company has had outdoor and print advertising campaigns recently, but this is its first television campaign.
