Guestfolio Unveils New Mobile Concierge

Innovative Trip Planner and Targeted Content

WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2012) - Guestfolio® today announced their new Mobile Concierge featuring an intuitive timeline-based trip planner and an engaging platform to present targeted content to hotel guests pre-arrival, in-house and post-stay. The new Mobile Concierge is available today and features a personalized itinerary that allows guests to plan their dining, activities and transportation options before their arrival. With the Mobile Concierge, hotels can post their own suggestions or in-house events that will dynamically display on a guests' itinerary and can even be booked directly through third-party suppliers such as Ticketmaster and OpenTable. The redesigned Mobile Concierge, two years in development, was presented during the company's first ever user conference in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

The Mobile Concierge presents the proven recommendations of the hotel's in-house concierge and helps guests cut through the existing fragmented travel planning applications and review websites. "We developed the itinerary directly into our Mobile Concierge because hoteliers wanted a way for their guests to manage what they had learnt about their hotel and local area as well as connect personally with their team," said Mark Edmondson, Guestfolio's Director of Technology. "When a guest makes a request, it's immediately distributed to the in-house concierge, front desk, valet or housekeeping staff by email or even SMS so that nothing is missed."

The Mobile Concierge also features targeted personalization, which ensures that only relevant information about the hotel and local area is presented to a guest based on their reservation specifics. This means that the content they see depends on variables such as their travel dates, demographic, country of residence or whether or not they are a repeat guest. "Our proprietary personalization system allows us to use guest data from a hotel's Property Management System (PMS) to display the appropriate content. It's completely seamless," said Duane Hepditch, President of Guestfolio. "Luxury hoteliers know that to compete in today's crowded marketplace they have to separate themselves through engaging service. With a growing number of people using mobile technology, engagement starts the moment the guest completes their booking and continues well after their departure."

The Mobile Concierge is completely responsive allowing the content to adapt dynamically to any device the hotel guest is using. "We heard from our hotel clients that they didn't want to invest in costly Apps that are obsolete by the time they hit the App store. They wanted a solution that will work with what's in people's hands today and what's coming tomorrow," says Hepditch. "Hotels are looking for proven ways to engage guests using new, yet readily accessible technology and they want low exposure on their ROI."

Responsive HTML is a new methodology in web development where the page layout can change based on the device it is being displayed on. Facebook, Google and other leading software services have invested in this technology to provide a single experience that is supported right in any browser window, eliminating the need to download a dedicated App.

The new Mobile Concierge is available exclusively to guests of hotels that utilize Guestfolio, which is currently used in over 100 cities worldwide.
