Gulf Coast Project Spending Remains Positive for the Remainder of 2008, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Capital and maintenance project activity planned along the United States' Gulf Coast region remains constant in comparison to past years. In fact, project activity has slightly increased for 2008 in spite of a troubled economy. Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) and Lake Charles Cogeneration LLC (Houston, Texas), among others, are each planning grassroot gasification plants worth a billion dollars or more each that could begin construction soon. A grassroot petroleum coke-fired cogeneration plant planned by Hunton Energy (Houston) will be the largest project in the region this year. Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) (Midland, Michigan) is expected to take feedstock and steam from the proposed plant after it is operational in 2012.
