Gupta Joins Oasis to Advance Industry Standards

Software Development Leader Continues Heritage of Innovation and Helps Drive Adoption of e-Business Standards

REDWOOD SHORES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 2, 2005 -- Gupta Technologies, LLC announced today that it has joined OASIS (the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), a not-for-profit, global consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of e-business standards. As a sponsor-level member, GUPTA will assist in providing the resources essential to advance the adoption of OASIS standards and other initiatives. By joining OASIS, GUPTA further demonstrates its commitment to innovation and interoperability across products and within the company's own product suite.

Participation and leadership in developing future standards has been a continual focus of GUPTA's product strategy and vision. GUPTA plans on participating in relevant OASIS committees in an effort to lend its innovation and expertise to the organization.

"With its global focus and more than 20-year history in the software development industry, GUPTA will be an asset to the OASIS organization," said James Bryce Clark, director of standards development at OASIS. "GUPTA's expertise is most welcome; we particularly look forward to their contributions in advancing frameworks for Web services implementations (FWSI), as well as defining a reference model for Service Oriented Architectures (SOA-RM)."

GUPTA has always been cognizant of standards when developing its cross-platform solutions, all of which are standards compliant. This includes the next generation of Team Developer, GUPTA's development tool for the efficient creation of business applications, which is currently in development and scheduled to launch in Q3 next year. Team Developer allows users to rapidly create and consume SOA applications with both .NET and J2EE Web services.

"GUPTA has a rich history of innovation that has provided us with the ability to solve complex business problems simply," said Chuck Stevenson, GUPTA's chief technology officer. "GUPTA's ability to create and consume .Net and J2EE Web services and work within a variety of Enterprise Service Bus frameworks will allow businesses to more rapidly create and more easily manage Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions throughout the enterprise. Further, GUPTA's 4GL language will reduce development efforts by 40% or more over pure Java or C# development."
