Guster to Perform Two Sold Out Shows With the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall on June 22nd and 23rd

BURBANK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 17, 2005 --

Quirky pop ironists Guster will return to their Boston hometown to perform two very special performances with the Boston Pops. The first half of the show will feature the orchestra playing classical pieces that have influenced the band. During the second half Guster will join the Pops in collaboration on older Guster favorites and previewing unreleased tracks such as "G Major" and "Dear Valentine." The band is currently taking a break from recording their fifth studio album, "Ganging Up On The Sun," due for release in early 2006, to play the special performances.

What: Pops On The Edge -- Boston Pops

Be prepared for anything as Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops take us beyond the boundaries of traditional orchestral music. Joining Keith Lockhart and the Pops this year is the band Guster, named the "Best Live Act" at the Boston Music Awards, and hailed as one of the greatest independent successes. Producer Roger Moutenot (Joseph Arthur, Sleater-Kinney, Yo La Tengo) assisted Guster in the studio for their fourth album -- "Keep It Together" -- which was released in June 2003. The band spent the next year touring America several times over, with appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," among others. Their CD/DVD set "Guster On Ice: Live From Portland, Maine" was released in May 2004. Guster will be performing hits off their past albums, as well as new material from their soon-to-be released fifth album.
