Gwinnett Business Radio Spotlights Tucket Footwear and Woodward North

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - September 17, 2015) - On August 27, 2015, Gwinnett Business Radio welcomed to the studio Dennis McCormick with Tucket Footwear and Beth Marien with Woodward North. Host Mike Sammond spoke with these guests about the businesses and presence in Gwinnett County.

Dennis McCormick is the founder of Tucket Footwear, a Classic Loafer Boat Shoe Company that designs footwear that can get wet and look good at the same time. McCormick grew up a boating enthusiast, and started Tucket Footwear out of a frustration that boat shoes were not as water friendly as they needed to be. "I developed our unique design for style, comfort, drainability, and grip," explained McCormick. "I pitched my idea to the only injection molded footwear manufacturer in the USA and we were on our way."

Tucket Footwear is a local Georgia company, proudly making its line of shoes in the USA. They also seek to fulfill a greater purpose -- to feed hungry children in the United States. Tucket Footwear has pledged that for every pair of Tuckets purchased, the company will donate funds to community food banks to buy at least three meals per consumer purchase for children and families in America.

Joining in the discussion was Beth Marien, Principal of Woodward North in Johns Creek. Woodward North is a satellite campus of Woodward Academy and offers programming to more than 300 students grades PreK through 6th. At Woodward North, their focus is on innovative practices in the classroom with a curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking.

"In addition to our rigorous academic program for mainstream students," said Marien, "We also offer an acclaimed Transition Program for students with diagnosed learning disabilities in fourth through sixth grades."
