NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) - Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group Gym Class Heroes have revealed details of a very special October tour. The dates, which see the chart-topping alternative/hip-hop band performing in intimate venues across North America, get underway October 18th at Chicago's Bottom Lounge and then continue through the month (see itinerary below).

GCH is currently lighting it up in Asia, with major festival appearances slated for Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and the Philippines. A number of exclusives dates are scheduled upon the band's return home, including a Honolulu headline show on August 24th; Los Angeles' H2O Music Festival on August 25th; and Brooklyn's world famous Afro-Punk Festival on August 26th. For up to the minute tour information, please visit http://gymclassheroes.com/tour.

Meanwhile, "The Fighter (Feat. Ryan Tedder)" -- the new single from Gym Class Heroes' latest release "THE PAPERCUT CHRONICLES II" -- is shaping up as yet another blockbuster for the band, with total download sales rapidly approaching 1 million. The track has proven an American anthem of the 2012 Summer Olympics, including featured play throughout NBC's promotional campaign and heavy rotation at MTV, mtvU, VH1, Nickelodeon, and FUSE.

What's more, the single's companion video -- directed by Marc Klasfeld (Jay-Z, Kid Rock, Katy Perry) & Nico Sabenorio (Rise Against, Serj Tankian), and starring Bronx-born Olympic gymnast John Orozco -- has just received a 2012 MTV Video Music Awards nomination as "Best Video With A Message." Fans are encouraged to vote at www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/best-video-with-a-message.

As if that weren't enough, "The Fighter" is also an online phenomenon, with more than 12 million individual views and counting at the official Fueled By Ramen YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/FueledByRamen.

Recent weeks have seen Gym Class Heroes celebrating the popular success of "The Fighter" with an array of high profile television appearances. Highlights include live performances on E!'s Opening Act, NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and their own installment of VH1 Unplugged.

In other news, GCH frontman Travie McCoy is partnering with Pepsi and the National Football League (NFL) for the "Pepsi NFL Anthems" program, a national campaign that will feature some of today's most talented musical artists, iconic NFL teams, and exciting players. The program will feature four originally created anthems -- by McCoy, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Rock, and Ice Cube, as well as a remixed version of Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" -- all inspired by the artists' passion for their cities and hometown NFL teams.

Travie's New York Giants anthem, entitled "All In," is exclusively available now at retail stores, including Wal-Mart, on specially marked 24-packs of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi MAX. McCoy's song can be downloaded using the in-pack redemption code from August 13th through September 3rd, after which it will be free to the public. In addition, fans that download songs using redemption codes located on select Pepsi products from August 13th through September 24th will be eligible to win an all-expense paid trip to the 2013 Super Bowl. For full details, please see www.PepsiAnthems.com.

Having now amassed collective sales of over 2 million albums worldwide and over 8 million digital singles, Gym Class Heroes and Travie McCoy first catapulted to international stardom in 2007 with the #1 hit "Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast In America." The single set the record for holding the top spot on the CHR/Top 40 radio charts for the most consecutive weeks by a band and helped earn them the "Best New Artist" award at the MTV Video Awards that same year. McCoy next scored one of 2010's biggest hits with his smash solo single "Billionaire (Feat. Bruno Mars)."

In 2011, Gym Class Heroes scored their second #1 with "Stereo Hearts (Feat. Adam Levine)," the lead single from their fourth Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen release, "THE PAPERCUT CHRONICLES II." The single ruled the top spot on the CHR/Top 40 chart for 3 weeks and went top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart while racking up sales of more than the 3 million. Travie celebrated by teaming up with Levine and Maroon 5 for a special performance of "Stereo Hearts" on NBC's Saturday Night Live, followed by Gym Class Heroes appearances on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ABC's 2011 American Music Awards, the nationally syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show, and ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

Long acclaimed as dynamic, genre-smashing live performers, Gym Class Heroes has toured with a variety of like-minded artists -- including Lil Wayne and The Roots -- while also topping the bill on the Vans Warped Tour and countless cross-country and international headline tours.
