Gymtastics Play-it-Forward Projects (Play-it-Forward) Enthusiastically Announces Their Next 2014 Event

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 27, 2014) - Play-it-Forward motivates underprivileged youth across the world. The team visits communities that are in need and arms them with physical development ideas, equipment and knowledge. The success of the program is due to the collaborative approach from sponsors, volunteers and participants all of which inspire each other to learn, grow and make physical activity a regular part of their daily lives.

"Physical activity is so much more than movement it inspires confidence, it builds relationships, it helps with learning and it's fun. There are so many more children we have to reach and teach through our Sport and Play programs. The possibilities are endless," says Darlene Fedyna, Founder of Play-it-Forward.

Lucky for us locals, Play-it-Forward will be hosting an Extreme Team Sports Camp for the third consecutive year this summer in Calgary, Alberta from July 02 - 04, 2014. This volunteer run sports camp gives underprivileged children the opportunity to participate in activities promoting fitness, basic gymnastics skills and gives them an introduction to sport. The activities learned during this camp can be shared with friends in their own neighborhoods.

More than just gymnastics each Play-it-Forward event teaches life skills though games and cooperative play activities. Program participants complete the activities with an increased sense of self confidence, new friendships and a new appreciation for physical activity and how good it feels to move and have fun. To help sustain the development experienced during participation in the Play-it-Forward projects, some equipment is provided for participants, so that they can continue to hone their own physical development skills.

Play-it-Forward Projects believes that every child should have the opportunity to grow through sport and play. Through education and mentorship, specialized sport and active play programs, the organization looks to leave a positive and sustainable impact on the children and their community.
