Habeas Expands Management Team, Appoints Philip Smith as Chief Financial Officer

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 19, 2006 -- Habeas, Inc. (www.habeas.com), the company that certifies the reputations of legitimate email senders, today announced that Philip Smith has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Smith will report to CEO Des Cahill and be responsible for all financial and administrative aspects of Habeas' business. The appointment immediately strengthens Habeas' management team and positions the company for continued growth and market momentum in 2007 and beyond.

Mr. Smith comes to Habeas from UPEK, Inc., where he was also CFO. At UPEK, he led the company's overall financial planning and infrastructure development throughout its worldwide operations, including fundraising, finance, accounting, human resources, investor relations, information technology and legal. During his tenure UPEK became recognized as the market leader in fingerprint-enabled security for notebook computers and other applications.

Prior to UPEK, Inc., Mr. Smith was CFO at Moai Technologies, Inc., an e-commerce software and services company in the auction, e-procurement and online market spaces. At Moai, he developed and led the financial and administrative activities of the pre-IPO company and increased its subscription revenues from $100,000 to $15 million over the course of one year.
