Habitat Canada and CanGift Help the Environment and Families With New Partnership

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 14, 2016) - Habitat for Humanity Canada and the Canadian Gift Association (CanGift) are pleased to announce a new partnership that doesn't only help families and communities but is also environmentally conscious!

Any remaining products from giftware wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, importers and exporters who take part in CanGift tradeshows will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStores for sale.

"The partnership between CanGift and Habitat for Humanity Canada allows our members to repurpose their products in an environmentally respectful way," says Anita Schachter, President and CEO of CanGift. "The Association is thrilled to be working with a company that brings meaningful change to people's lives."

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home and building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building supplies, home furnishing, appliances and décor. The proceeds go to fund Habitat for Humanity operations and projects in communities across Canada.

"When we heard CanGift wanted to provide the opportunity for its members to donate their merchandise, we were thrilled," says Mark Rodgers, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. "This is a commitment that not only helps the environment, but it helps us build safe and decent homes for families across Canada."

Restores accept donations of overstocked, secondhand and discontinued items, as well as salvageable building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These items would otherwise be sent to a landfill.
