Hackney Communications to Oversee the Corporate Publications of Troux Technologies and BearCom

AUSTIN, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 14, 2006 -- Hackney Communications, a national public relations firm with a strong journalistic discipline, announced today that it will oversee the editorial operations of two more corporate publications.

First, the firm will oversee the writing, editing and production of Troux Technologies' Architecture & Governance (, a quarterly magazine that reports on IT Governance issues in the public and private sector. Troux ( is an Austin Ventures-backed company that has carved out a niche as a provider of IT Governance solutions.

Hackney Communications will also oversee the editorial operations of Today's Wireless World, a monthly (electronic) and quarterly (print) publication of BearCom (, the nation's largest dealer of wireless communication products and services.

The agreement with BearCom is similar to the firm's contract with Charles Schwab, Inc., the global financial services Fortune 500 company, which publishes a monthly newsletter and quarterly magazine for its active trader division, CyberTrader.

"We initially considered writing and editing these publications internally, but after working with Hackney Communications on another project, we quickly learned the value of the special mix of editorial and journalistic skills that his firm brings to the table," said Kent Huffman, BearCom's Chief Marketing Officer. "Adding him to our editorial team will help take our magazine and newsletter to the next level."

Hackney Communications Managing Partner Holt Hackney has more than 25 years of journalism experience and has published corporate newsletters for almost 15 years.

"This is a real sweet spot for Hackney Communications, which excels in the production of publications that build community around existing customers, prospects and business partners," said Hackney.

"We know how to find and deliver meaningful content, so that the reader opens and reads the publication and, in the process, absorbs the company's marketing messages."
